4. How do I select the correct anchor type and capacity?
Selection is critical and depends on:

Load Type & Magnitude: Static weight of element, dynamic lifting loads (impact factor), erection loads (wind, bracing).

Concrete Strength: Design concrete strength at the time of lifting.

Anchor Location & Concrete Cover: Distance from edges and embedment depth.

Lifting Angle: Angle of the lifting sling (e.g., 60° vs 90°).
We strongly advise involving a structural engineer. We provide technical data sheets with certified working load limits (WLL), load reduction factors for angles, and concrete failure load tables to assist in specification.

5. What is the Working Load Limit (WLL) and safety factor?
Working Load Limit (WLL): The maximum safe load in tension (lift) and/or shear under which the anchor should be used. It accounts for a built-in safety factor.

Safety Factor: Typically, lifting anchors are designed with a minimum safety factor of 4:1 or 5:1 against ultimate failure. This means the breaking strength is 4-5 times the stated WLL.
The WLL is for the anchor itself; concrete breakout strength must also be verified.

6. How are these anchors installed in the precast element?
They are installed in the formwork before concrete is poured:

Positioning: The anchor is accurately positioned and tied/welded to the reinforcement cage per shop drawings.

Securing: It is firmly secured to the formwork to prevent movement during concrete placement and vibration.

Pouring & Curing: Concrete is poured, completely embedding the anchor.

Stripping: After curing, the formwork is stripped, exposing the anchor's functional part (loop, thread, channel).
