Leaf springs are one of the most widely used elastic elements in automotive suspensions. They are composed of several alloy spring leaves of equal width and varying lengths (thickness can be equal or varying), forming a nearly uniform elastic beam.
When a leaf spring is installed in an automotive suspension, the vertical load is positive, causing the leaves to deform and tend to arch upward. This occurs when the axle and frame are relatively close. As the distance between the axle and frame increases, the vertical load and deformation of the leaf spring gradually decrease, sometimes even reversing. To improve the load bearing capacity of the main coil ear, the end of the secondary leaf is often bent into a coil ear and wrapped around the main coil ear.

Intelligent Material Preparation & Cutting: Our process begins with proprietary, high-carbon, alloy spring steel (grades such as 50CrV4, 65Mn, SUP9). Coiled steel is fed into a fully automated, CNC-controlled multi-blade precision cutting line. This system ensures each leaf is cut to exact length with clean, burr-free edges, optimizing material yield and establishing perfect dimensional baseline for assembly.
Precision Hot-Forming & Heat Treatment: The cut blanks are then heated to a precise forging temperature in computer-controlled induction furnaces. They are transferred to high-tonnage hydraulic hot-forming presses equipped with precision dies. This process forms the exact camber (curvature) and eye ends of each leaf. Immediately after forming, the leaves undergo a critical quenching and tempering (Q&T) process in our automated heat treatment line. This controlled sequence of heating, rapid oil quenching, and tempering in a protective atmosphere furnace gives the steel its essential properties: a hard, wear-resistant surface and a tough, fatigue-resistant core.
