Q1: What information do you need to provide an accurate quote?
A: We need the following for an accurate quote:
Detailed Engineering Drawings: Preferably in DXF, DWG, STEP, or IGES format. 2D drawings must clearly show flat pattern dimensions with all bend lines, angles, directions, and radii.
Complete Material Specifications: Type (e.g., 304 Stainless Steel), grade, thickness, and temper/condition.
Quantity Required.
Surface Finish Requirements: (e.g., powder coat RAL 9010, brushed finish, passivated).
Any Critical Tolerances beyond our standard (±0.5° on bends, ±0.1mm on linear dimensions).
Q2: What is your standard bending tolerance?
A: Our standard bending tolerances are:
Bend Angle: ±0.5 degrees (for angles 90° and others).
Linear Dimensions (between bends): ±0.1mm to ±0.25mm, depending on part size and complexity.
Bend-to-Hole/Feature Position: ±0.13mm.
Flatness (after bending): 0.2mm per 100mm.
Tighter tolerances (e.g., ±0.1° on angles) are achievable with our high-precision machines and specialized tooling, but will affect cost and lead time.
Q3: Can you bend pre-painted, powder-coated, or anodized material without damaging the finish?
A: Yes, but special care and tooling are required. We can bend pre-finished materials by:
Using protective film on the sheet.
Utilizing specialized tooling with polished, radiused surfaces or protective urethane inserts.
Adjusting bending parameters to minimize stretching and abrasion.
Some micro-cracking or minor finish distortion on the outside of the bend radius is often unavoidable, especially with harder coatings. We recommend post-bending painting/powder coating for the highest cosmetic quality.
Q4: What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
A: For custom bending, our MOQ is typically 50 pieces. For simple, small brackets, we can go as low as 10-25 pieces. For prototype or development projects, we accept single-piece orders. Larger volumes (500+) receive significant per-piece cost reductions.
Q5: What is your typical lead time?
A: Lead times vary:
Prototypes (1-10 pcs): 5-10 working days after drawing approval.
Small Batch (10-100 pcs): 10-15 working days.
Production Run (100-1000 pcs): 15-25 working days.
Lead time begins after we receive approved drawings and deposit.
Q6: What quality control measures do you have?
A: Our QC includes:
First Article Inspection (FAI): Full dimensional check with CMM or precision tools.
In-Process Checks: Spot-checking bend angles and key dimensions.
Material Certs: Verification of material grade.
Final Audit: Visual and functional check before packing.
We provide FAI reports and welcome customer or third-party inspection.
Q7: How do you package bent parts to prevent damage?
A: We use protective packaging:
Individual wrapping in bubble wrap or foam.
Cardboard separators between parts.
Sturdy export cartons or wooden crates for heavy/large items.
Edge protectors for sharp bends.
