Our company philosophy:
Q: What pipe clamps do I need?
A: Any standard 25-32mm pipe clamps will work. We recommend stainless steel or zinc-plated heavy-duty clamps (6-8mm bolt size). Our manual includes specific recommendations.
Q: Can I connect multiple frames together?
A: Yes! Our system is designed for expansion. Additional connection kits are available to join multiple frames for larger structures.
Q: Is painting or additional treatment needed?
A: No. The triple-layer coating provides complete protection. The touch-up pen is only for minor scratches.
Q: What's the smallest/largest structure I can build?
A: Minimum practical size: 2m × 2m. Maximum with standard kit: 4m × 6m. Larger structures possible with additional frame sections.
Q: How does this compare to aluminum frames?
A: Our steel frame offers 40% higher strength-to-weight ratio, better fatigue resistance, and lower cost. Aluminum may be preferred for extreme lightweight applications.
Q: Are curved sections available?
A: Currently we offer straight sections only. Curves can be created using multiple angled joints in sequence.
Q: Can I use this for permanent structures?
A: While durable, it's designed for temporary/semi-permanent use. For permanent installation, additional bracing and foundation work would be required.
Q: Can this frame handle heavy rain or snow?
A: The frame itself is highly durable. However, its performance in weather depends on your cover material and anchoring. The structure can withstand significant rain when properly angled for runoff. It is NOT rated for snow load-accumulated snow can deform or collapse the frame.
Q: How does it hold up in high winds?
A: When properly anchored with quality stakes and guylines, the frame is rated for winds up to 65 km/h (40 mph). Always orient the most streamlined side into the wind and use extra anchors in exposed locations. In forecasted high winds, disassembly is recommended.
Q: Is the coating rust-proof?
A: The triple-layer coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, but it is not completely rust-proof, especially if scratched or in harsh environments (coastal, industrial). It withstands over 500 hours of salt spray testing, making it suitable for most conditions with proper care.
Q: Can I leave the frame assembled outdoors long-term?
A: It is designed for temporary/semi-permanent use. For seasonal use (e.g., a summer carport), it should last well if the coating is intact. For permanent installation, a dedicated steel structure is more appropriate. We recommend disassembling and storing during harsh off-seasons.
Q: Can I paint the frame a different color?
A: Yes, but proper surface preparation is crucial. You must lightly sand the existing powder coat and use a primer suitable for galvanized/powder-coated metal. Avoid painting over scratches without treating them first, as trapped moisture can cause rust.
