Q1: What is the difference between stamping and deep drawing?
A: Stamping is a broader term for shaping flat sheet metal using a press and die, often involving cutting, bending, and shallow forming. Deep Drawing is a specific stamping process that uses tensile force to pull sheet metal into a die, forming deep, hollow shapes like cups or enclosures without thinning the material excessively.
Q2: What are your main capabilities?
A: We specialize in progressive die stamping for high-volume, complex parts and deep drawing for seamless cylindrical/box-shaped components. Our integrated services include tool & die design/manufacturing, in-house secondary operations (welding, tapping, assembly), and full surface finishing.
Q3: What materials can you work with?
A: We process a wide range of materials:
Steels: Cold/hot rolled steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel (304, 316, 430).
Non-Ferrous: Aluminum (1000, 3000, 5000, 6000 series), Copper, Brass.
Specialty Alloys: Spring steel, phosphor bronze, etc.
Q4: What are your maximum part dimensions?
A: For stamping, we can handle parts up to 500mm x 500mm with our 800-ton presses. For deep drawing, typical diameters are up to 300mm, with draw depths dependent on the diameter and material.
Q5: What is the typical lead time and cost for tooling (molds)?
A: Lead time varies: 10-15 days for simple blanking dies, 25-40 days for complex progressive dies. Cost depends entirely on part complexity, size, and required precision, ranging from $1,000 to $30,000+. We provide a detailed, fixed-price tooling quotation after DFM analysis.
Q6: Who owns the tooling?
A: The standard practice is that the customer pays for and owns the tooling. The tools are stored and maintained at our facility at no charge for the duration of our production contract. We provide tooling inspection reports.
Q7: Can you help optimize my design for manufacturing (DFM)?
A: Absolutely. DFM is a core part of our service. Our engineers will review your drawings and suggest modifications for easier forming, reduced scrap, lower tooling cost, and improved strength before the final quote. This collaborative step often saves significant time and money.
Q8: What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
A: For stamped parts, MOQ is typically 10,000+ pieces to justify custom tooling costs. However, we can offer lower MOQs for simpler parts or use shared tooling if applicable. For deep drawing, MOQs can be lower for standard-sized shells.
Q9: Can you provide material certification?
A: Yes, we provide full Material Test Certificates (MTCs) from the mill for all raw materials, traceable to the production batch of your parts.
