2. Why do I need to replace my snowplow's cutting edge?
The cutting edge is a wear item. Over time, it wears down from friction against asphalt, concrete, and debris, becoming:
Less effective: A worn edge doesn't scrape cleanly, leaving behind snow and ice.
Damaging: A severely worn edge can expose the plow's moldboard to the ground, causing costly damage to the main blade.
Uneven: It can lead to uneven scraping and poor control.
3. How do I know when to replace it?
Visible Wear: The edge is no longer straight and has a rounded or angled wear pattern.
Reduced Performance: The plow leaves a layer of snow or "smears" ice instead of scraping it.

6. What's the difference between a reversible edge and a standard edge?
Reversible Edge: Usually rectangular in cross-section. When one side wears, you can flip it over to use a second sharp edge, doubling its service life.

7. How is a cutting edge installed?
It is bolted onto the bottom of the plow's moldboard.
